Tinycards – new service from the creators of Duolingo to quickly memorize foreign words
I am sure that our readers do not need to represent Duolingo. Everyone knows well that this is one of the simplest and most affordable services for learning foreign languages.
Recently, the Duolingo Developer company released a new application called Tinycards for iOS. It is based on the Leuter system, which involves the interval repetition of new words and concepts until the student does not remember the material. The program received excellent reviews, so in Duolingo I decided to launch the same name Web service.
After registering on the site you will be offered to choose the topic you want to study. There are sets of cards of the most different subjects – from learning foreign languages to the names of chemical elements and names of the ancient Greek gods. In order not to be lost in this abundance, it is best to use the built-in search.
The learning process itself is simple, but very effective. You will be shown a card, on one side of which the picture is located, and on the second – the corresponding word. Then the verification questions are set to verify when it is necessary to select the desired word or, on the contrary, mapping the correct picture to.
The frequency of repeating words depends on how successful you copble with the tasks. If you constantly make mistakes in any word, it will repeat again and again. If the program sees that you remember the material well, it will demonstrate it to consolidate only a while.
Most card sets in Tinycards are created by users themselves. On the one hand, this allowed the service to quickly acquire educational materials for a variety of topics. On the other hand, some courses are frankly amateur and replete with errors. Let’s hope that this is a temporary phenomenon and on Tinycards will soon appear more professionally compiled card sets.
